For us anyway...
Dylan is walking!! With assistance of course, but walking!! Today was the first day he showed any interest in this new form of motion. For months we have been trying to get him to use the fancy car he got in its cruising mode. As soon as he stood behind it, he would promptly sit down. He cruises all over the furniture and climbs on EVERYTHING, but no interest in the walking. He would lift his feet if we tried to help him. This morning I put my hand under his bum to support him and we walked around with the car. All of a sudden this happened:
Now he can't get enough. He walks us around the apartment taking us to his favourite spots; the kitchen chair, the fridge...have a mentioned what a little porker he is? Somewhere in the middle of all of the recent illnesses, Dylan had one perfectly healthy day. The day that we actually had an appointment with his doctor. This was ultimately a good thing, as he was able to get his shots, but seriously? Anyhoo, Dr. G told us that if Dylan was at the same place on the graph for weight as his height, he could weigh another six pounds. Wow. We knew he was slim, but six pounds? So we were told to just feed and feed him and that is what we have been doing. This morning for breakfast Neven scrambled three eggs. We think that Dylan ate more than two of them. He then had a bowl of cereal, a pancake, an entire banana and washed it all down with some milk. Our poor little starved child takes a morning snack an hour later, today it was four num-nums and a freezie. Lunch was mixed vegetables, a pumpkin pancake, jarred baby food x 2, milk and fruit. Afternoon snack was milk and fruit. Dinner was more veg, chicken with goat's cheese, a jar of baby vegetable food, an entire pear, yogurt, and followed it up with picking food off my plate. Then before bed he had a bowl of cereal, two num-nums and milk. All this food between 7am and 7pm. He knows how to pack it in. I swear that we are not forcing any of it on him - we are pretty sure that there is a tapeworm involved or a serious case of hollow-leg syndrome. Am I crazy moms - or is this an awful lot of eats? What are we going to do when he is a teenager. I will need to get a second job.
