When the cat is away...

Neven is working late tonight and I decided to experiment with the mac gallery that we have, now that someone has a fancy iPhone. So far I have only uploaded one album, but who knows, I may get ambitious in an effort to avoid cleaning up from dinner.

Also, just for fun, lets all think good thoughts about the boy feeling better tomorrow.  He has a really bad cold that I DO NOT want to turn into some serious coughy asthma thing...and it is kind of seeming to be headed in that direction, so all together now...okay.  Thanks.  That should do it.

Happy Birthday Neven!!!

This morning I reminded Dylan that it was Neven's birthday.  I started to sing Happy Birthday to you... but was interrupted.  Dylan: "No Mommy.  Stop.  We sang that already."  Which is true.  We had a birthday dinner for Neven on Sunday and busted out the cake and a boisterous version of Happy Birthday, including the requisite "and many more." (with jazz hands).  So apparently Dylan feels pretty strongly about only singing once per birthday.  Who knew?

Christmas Fun

We had an excellent Christmas around these parts. I would post some pictures, but I am too busy playing with my new nintendo ds. My brain is getting HUGE thanks to Brain Age and Brain Academy. And just to be safe from evil remarks about the size of my brain, I have turned off the comment section! HA!

December 2nd

Today we thought of 10 things that we are all thankful for:

1. For each other.
2. Feist.
3. Our new house.
4. Dylan's new school, great teachers and new friends.
5. Daddy's new job.
6. Family and friends that love us.
7. Lots of family time together.
8. Good laughs (especially the toddler belly variety).
9. Good food and wine.
10. Good health.

December 1st, 2009

Dear Diary...I clearly do not know the lyrics to Santa Claus is Coming to Town. But I tried. And in my defense it was late at night. And there was wine involved. And really it would be good if people did not shout and cry and were good, if you ask me.

Christmas Advent Activities

This year Leah forwarded me an idea for a Family Activities Advent Calendar - otherwise know as the 25 days of Christmas challenge. Here is Leah's post about her family plans.

I have taken the plunge (albeit a little late - I was working on my list on the way home last night) and managed to finish half of my little envelopes. I will finish the rest tonight and post some pictures of the final product.

I have decided to keep my list under lock and keep Neven on his toes! So - check back periodically for updates about what we have been doing!

I also made an Advent Tree for Dylan to decorate this month, so we are chock full of countdowns!

Walk in the Woods

Nearby to the new house we have this little forest. When it was a bit nicer we liked to go for bike rides, but this weekend we took a little walk. Another couple on the trail offered to take this picture and spared us the likely tragedy of the camera toppling from the uneven log I was trying to balance it on.

I let the boys get ahead of me and caught this little piece of autumn loveliness.

As usual, things have been busy around here, what with the new job, new school, Fall Convocation, business trips to Montreal and the ongoing organisation of the new house...

Vacation!!

That is it folks. We are hitting the road for a week of relaxation at the cottage. Dylan is excited about the idea of swimming in the lake, as it will be in his words "like a big simming pool" (sic).

The house is fantastic and I will tell you more about that soon enough.
