December 2nd

Today we thought of 10 things that we are all thankful for:

1. For each other.
2. Feist.
3. Our new house.
4. Dylan's new school, great teachers and new friends.
5. Daddy's new job.
6. Family and friends that love us.
7. Lots of family time together.
8. Good laughs (especially the toddler belly variety).
9. Good food and wine.
10. Good health.

Sofa!!

Our sofa finally came!!

Day One...

December 1st, 2009

Dear Diary...I clearly do not know the lyrics to Santa Claus is Coming to Town. But I tried. And in my defense it was late at night. And there was wine involved. And really it would be good if people did not shout and cry and were good, if you ask me.

Dylan's letter to Santa.

(Dylan helped me write this. He held the pen and wrote with me. He also scratched out the "all year" which threw me into hysterics. We amended it to "with very few exceptions.")

25 Days of Christmas - Ready to go!!

Just in time...

Christmas Advent Activities

This year Leah forwarded me an idea for a Family Activities Advent Calendar - otherwise know as the 25 days of Christmas challenge. Here is Leah's post about her family plans.

I have taken the plunge (albeit a little late - I was working on my list on the way home last night) and managed to finish half of my little envelopes. I will finish the rest tonight and post some pictures of the final product.

I have decided to keep my list under lock and keep Neven on his toes! So - check back periodically for updates about what we have been doing!

I also made an Advent Tree for Dylan to decorate this month, so we are chock full of countdowns!

Halloween and Fall Picnics

Dylan hits the streets - Snowman extraordinaire.

Family bike ride on a gorgeous fall day.

Neven stops to save a really cute little puppy. And no, we can not keep him.

Action shot - check out the speed!

Walk in the Woods

Nearby to the new house we have this little forest. When it was a bit nicer we liked to go for bike rides, but this weekend we took a little walk. Another couple on the trail offered to take this picture and spared us the likely tragedy of the camera toppling from the uneven log I was trying to balance it on.

I let the boys get ahead of me and caught this little piece of autumn loveliness.

This little piggie

As usual, things have been busy around here, what with the new job, new school, Fall Convocation, business trips to Montreal and the ongoing organisation of the new house...

Here is a little moment captured after dinner one night. Please visit here to see a "boo boo fish".

Vacation!!

That is it folks. We are hitting the road for a week of relaxation at the cottage. Dylan is excited about the idea of swimming in the lake, as it will be in his words "like a big simming pool" (sic).

The house is fantastic and I will tell you more about that soon enough.

See you in September!

Big Move

So here is some news for you...

Neven has been offered a new job at a company called Autograph Trim in Mississauga. They do all of the wrapping for the TTC. So when you see a bus or a streetcar completely covered in ads - that is their handy work. It is a great company, lovely people, better money, benefits etc. and we are really excited.

Soooo

We have decided to move to Mississauga! I know...crazy. We found a great daycare and a fantastic new house. The daycare is called Peekaboo and it is right by Neven's new work.

See the before shots of the townhouse! It is near Streetsville at Winston Churchill and Thomas St. The place is a 3 bedroom townhouse condo with a finished basement, so we will have more space and the little neighbourhood is lovely. I will be able to commute to York by an express go bus at the Steetsville Go Station.

Moving day has just been upped to August 24th, so you won't hear from us for a while - we are going to be SUPER busy. And then we go on vacation. Fear not. I will update you in September if not before. Until then...
