The birthday celebrations began earlier in the week when a package arrived from Auntie Karey. She took care that no one - including Mama - would bust into Dylan's present!
We finally managed to gain access to the box and found tons of treats inside. Thank you so much Gerbers! A fave was this mic that plays songs.
Nary a day later, the postman brought a package from Auntie Kara! Inside was a pull-out sofa, and a super cool ride-on! The car has NINE different sounds! We are so lucky! (I will get you back one day Kara - mark my words! hee hee) And yes, I did say a pull-out sofa, a "Cars" one no less. It even has a sleeping bag. Thanks Auntie Kara and Calvin!
On Friday Mama was going out with Leah for a pedi and some drinks. Leah brought with her a present that Lola picked out for Dylan. Mr. Potatohead! And some paint that goes on windows! Thanks Lola!
On Saturday we had some heart shaped pancakes,
took some self portraits...
played with Mr. Potatohead...
and then Dada and Dylan went to dance class. After, we went for a walk around the 'hood and stopped for a visit with Madeline (the pharmacist that works downstairs. Dylan absolutely loves her.). After lunch, Dylan had a delicious birthday cupcake and went for a nice nap.
In the afternoon we went to Mastermind to pick out a toy (super cool playground ball) and got some balloons. A pretty menacing storm blew through town, but it did not stop us from going to our next activity - watching the "Lil Jimmy's Chicken Pickers" at the Cameron House. The awesome band was nice enough to sing Happy Birthday for Dylan and even sang a bit of another song about him! It was so much fun! Finally we came home to bed!
On Sunday, we went to "NanaandBahouse" as Dylan likes to call it, to see the fam for some more celebrations. Jason, Holly, Graeme, Josh, Gigi and Gipa all came over! Ba's birthday was on Thursday, so they shared the occasion. Dylan got totally spoiled - of course! Mama made some cake (thanks for the tips Alex!) and Dylan ate a big piece before his nap.
We stayed over night so Dylan could go to his doctor's appointment on Monday morning. Dada braved the Go and took a bus home for a nice night off after all of the excitement.
All in all - it was a fantastic birthday! Thanks everyone!!
