The night before the surgery I recorded three songs onto our ipod. We have a program that records vocal tracks and then imports it to itunes. So I taped his lullaby and a couple other songs he likes. When he went into surgery, I was not able to go along, so I made sure that the earphones were on. The child service rep who went in with him said that he seemed calmed by the sound of my voice. They actually thought that it was a really great idea and talked about recommeding it to other parents.
