Must be Santa, Santa Claus

Okay, we didn't last that long, but I am sure that he was at the Parade. We would have heard about it on the news or something by now if he was a no-show. What we did see of the parade was very enjoyable. The sound of a marching band does something to me, I absolutely love it! Luckily at the Santa Claus Parade there is a marching band every few feet. Not too close though, the distance has been perfected. Just as the sound of the last band was fading into the distance, another fabulous band comes along and I found myself dancing on the street again! It was really fun. We picked a spacious, but cold corner of Toronto (Bloor and Spadina) so after awhile we decided to start moving. We walked back along the parade route, squeezing in and out of revelers and enjoying glimpses of floats along the way. We also picked up some great ideas for future float watching. Some of the best seats along the way belonged to the children of parents with ladders. A nice lightweight addition to the hoards of stuff you need to travel with and presto an elevated view! We even saw a one family that had two ladders and a sturdy plank to accommodate the entire brood. Very clever. At Bathurst we headed south to College and then took a nostalgic stroll through the old 'hood. We stopped at the Brass Taps for lunch and continued on our way. The day was full of hot booze in cocoa, so despite the fact that we did not see the man in red, I know that the holidays are here! Some pics:
