It is hard to believe that Dylan is six months old. Most of the time it is amazing how fast time flies. The last couple of weeks things at night have slowed right down though! It is astounding how long a night can seem when you are out of bed every ten minutes. But that aside things are pretty fun around here.
We recently did some official child proofing - the electrical socket in the living room was looking very enticing. So does every cable, converter and all other electronic devices. Neven's playstation almost made a nice snack the other day. Dylan is really starting to get the hang of the scoot and motors around the living room with ease. He is also rocking the solid foods like nobody's business. On the menu these days - cauliflower, broccoli, yams, carrots, prunes, zucchini and squash! He gets so excited about meal times - it is very funny.
Yesterday was our check-up with the doctor. Dr.Gustasfson was excellent. My Dad came as back-up for the needle portion (thanks Dad!!) and helped Dr. G give Dylan the evil evil shots. Dylan was a real trooper. This time did not seem as bad as his 4 month shots. We are not sure if it was the better doctor, the bigger tougher Dylan or the fact that we used a topical anesthetic before giving the shots. Mom read an article about it cutting the pain of the injections. Dr. G thought that it was probably helping me more than Dylan, but that is something at least!
Dylan is now 17.5 lbs and 28.5 inches long. That means he has more than doubled his birth weight and gained almost 10 inches in the height department. Dr. G has given us the okay to fatten him up (he is above the curve on height and right in the middle for weight, totally fine and not underweight!) so we are letting loose a bit on the solids and letting the little champ pack it away. He got a clean bill of health and Dad and I also got shots (flu) to make Dylan feel better.
Tomorrow is the street Halloween festival, so I will take some pics of the super pickle around town.
